Numerical Study on Protective Measures for a Skid-Mounted Hydrogen Refueling Station

Hydrogen refueling stations are one of the key infrastructure components for hydrogen-fueled economy. Skid-mounted hydrogen (SHRSs) can be more easily commercialized due to their smaller footprints and lower costs compared stationary stations. The present work modeled explosions in a skid-mounted station predict overpressures hydrogen-air mixtures investigate protective effects different explosion vent layouts wall distances. results show that explosive vents with same area have similar overpressure reduction effects. layout affects flame shape. Explosion venting effectively reduce inside maximum by 61.8%. walls overpressures, but should not too close SHRS because high generated confined shock waves. distance 6 m protect surrounding people avoid secondary damage container.
